Arkadi Flato

(also Arcadi, Arkady Flato) (died 1942) - v iolinist, jazz musician and conductor. One of the pioneers of jaz z in Poland. Musician and arranger Argentine tangos. He was proba bly married to Ilse Jordan, sister of Charles Jordan [need # 160; source]. When in Germany, in 1933 the Nazis came to power many musicians with Jewish roots came out from Germany. Among them was the orchestra Flato, Ady Rosner (trumpet), Erwin Woheller (saxophone). Flato was one of the musicians who initiated the jazz movement in Poland.
